Children and Youth at Trinity
ON SUNDAY MORNING
All ages are welcome at all church services at Trinity Church. There are Children's Worship Bulletins, crayons, coloring books and other materials available for children to use during the service. Many children and youth are active participants in Trinity services as ushers, greeters, acolytes and choir members. In addition, Christian Education classes for all ages meet in the Parish House from 10:00 to 10:50 a.m. on Sunday mornings. Classes are held during the school year from September through May.
For infants to age 3 - Nursery: Child care is provided for infants through age 3 from 8:45 am to 12:30 pm. The nursery is available during the 8:45 and 11:00 church services as well as the 10:00 Sunday School hour. The nursery is located downstairs in the Parish House.
For ages 4 to 7: Godly Play I and II are designed for these ages, combining age appropriate story-telling, prayer and singing
For grades 3 - 12: Trinity offers a rotation style experience for youth and adults. One Bible passage or theme is explored over several weeks using different activities and different points of view.
OTHER OPPORTUNITIES FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH
The youth choir is a great experience for children with an interest in music who are age 5 and older. Our music director works hard with the children to develop their individual gifts and to encourage them to work as a team to make interesting and beautiful music to enhance the services. All the children, but particularly the older boys, also get a chance to rehearse and sing with experienced members of the adult choir.
Camp Trinity is an outdoor experience at a local farm for families which can be an evening or an overnight experience.
Junior High students meet once a month to have fun and to do community service projects. Fellowship is part of the middle school experience at Trinity.
Senior High students meet about three times per month. Activities include coffee outings, movies, games and community projects. Highlights have included helping with the monthly Spaghetti Dinners and the annual ski trip.
Youth Outreach: Teen mission groups have gone to Honduras and New Orleans. These activities were supported by fundraising efforts organized by the youth of the parish, such as the monthly Spaghetti Dinners in support of Honduran outreach. The Katrina relief project to New Orleans was supported by car washes, the sale of raffle tickets for a donated quilt and a plant sale on Mother's Day.
Children and teens also volunteer closer to home, helping with the Noon Lunch Program at the church and other outreach and in-reach activities.
