Your Vestry gathered on Monday, September 21 for a longer-than-usual monthly meeting. Its length had nothing to do with idle conversation, rather it focused on the many issues “on the table” for Vestry to address. To learn more, use the links below to supply you with detailed information on the budget, agenda items, and minutes from our August meeting.
One of our focus areas, as determined by our February, 2026 retreat, is managing growth. So many new programs are being developed by our congregation and staff that we need to be efficient and productive in managing them. A good example is our music program. Our choir has grown by leaps and bounds, putting added responsibility on our Director of Music. Volunteer help has emerged, but is struggling to keep up with the pace of growth. Vestry and staff will be addressing programs, such as music, to manage this important program with more staff.
By now, you have noticed the beautiful, new directional signs on parish grounds. We will soon be adding a single informational sign near the entrance that will include a QR Code. This code will direct visitors to the long, storied history of Trinity Staunton. Take a moment to thank Bill and Kathy Frazier and Tom Howell for their dogged research that largely built our history content.
Finally, Vestry nominations and elections are soon upon us! Four members of Vestry will “roll off” beginning January 1, 2027 and four new ones will be seated. If you are interest in serving Trinity in this important role, please let AJ, Cara or current Vestry know that you are interested in serving. It is a three-year term with monthly meetings, minus June and July.
Trinity Weekly News, which you should be receiving by email, is full of announcements of upcoming events in which you can get involved. It goes without saying that AJ, Cara, staff, Vestry and myself stand ready to answer any questions that you might have to enhance your spiritual journey at Trinity Episcopal Church.
